In a major move, Ministry of Corporate Affairs has included Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) instrument issued by NPOs on Social Stock Exchange in Schedule VII of Companies Act making subscription to such ZCZP as eligible for meeting CSR obligation by companies covered under Section 135 of Companies Act 2013. This would provide huge fillip to fund mobilisation by NPOs through SSE. NPOs may look at registration on SSE and later listing of securities for social projects through issue of ZCZP with the inclusion of ZCZP in Schedule VII.
