Hello,
Our Youtube channel has generated ~$2k from the content we created.
-
Will there be an FCRA problem if we take it out to our bank account, as we dont have FCRA? Or will it be fine since it is not a donation but an income?
-
How should it be accounted, and any need to pay any taxes for this, including GST (we dont have GST)?
Thank you
Thanks for your query.
Since the content was produced using local funds and the earning is recognised and accounted as business income incidental to your object, FCRA implication is unlikely. This income fulfils definition of charitable purpose provided separate books are maintained and can be utilised for objects of the NGO with reporting in your income tax return. Necessary documentation like invoice, declaration to bank that it is business income and not donation be maintained for such foreign remittance.
