Need to change our NGO's objectives

We registered our Society 10 years ago to work on child education. Now we want to officially expand our work into vocational training for youth as well. This is not mentioned in our original MoA. What is the full process to add this new objective? Is it a complicated and expensive process? Any guidance is appreciated!

Thanks for your query.

  1. Since there is change in main object, please follow rules in your charter on amendment of object clause by society.
  2. File a copy of the amended MOA and Rules with Registrar of Societies and obtain approval or at least acknowledgement.
  3. File Form 10AB with Income Tax for modification of object within 30 days of passing of resolution for modification, please see 12A(1)(ac) of Income Tax Act for more details.
  4. If you are registered under FCRA, please file Form FC 6B for change in objects within 45 days of modification and seek approval.
