Minimum Wages are revised for Uttarakhand, now some are advising only VDA has been revised so, it will not have implications in payroll, and some are advising on making changes as per VDA updates, as a non profits will it effect our payroll, we need more clarity in terms of making changes to our payroll.
Please note MW is applicable to all establishments in Code on Wages which includes NGOs as against Scheduled employments in the erstwhile MW Act 1948. MW has to be aligned with the definition of Wage as per Wage Code.
Typically, breakdown of MW is base rate plus VDA plus in kind remuneration if applicable. VDA which is linked to cost of living will vary and is one component. So, please ensure that your wages are not less than MW as notified by the state from time to time and that social security (SS) benefits are calculated based on Wages as per the definition of Wage.
